It is rather difficult for a person to be prudent when he or she is nervous. In this state people are usually unable to accept the information normally. That’s why it’s better to take somebody with you – somebody, who will listen to the doctor attentively, write the most important things down and will help you formulate some questions. You may also make a recording of your conversation not to miss anything and to give the full information to your family and relatives.

There are a few things to be sure to gather for your appointment:

• Prepare all of your medical materials or their copies for your doctor ( documents connected with the operation, complications, the treatment with the help of radiation and other crucial documents)
• Be fully confident you have all required papers before visiting the doctor
• You should go to the doctor with all roentgenograms and the results of all other tests which were done before. They consist of the present results and the summary. You can find them at the radiology section that have done the test.
• In case you have been treated with the help of a surgeon or other medical tests in which cells are taken from your body and examined to find out if they are healthy you should familiarize the doctor with everything. It means that you should take the present results and the summary from the pathologist and can be carried or sent through the internet from the pathology section where the tests were done.
• It’s better to call in advance and to check whether the doctor's secretary has got all of required information before to your visit if you have sent something to them. You should have her phone number.
• If you need the results of roentgenogram for your visit from another place, you can come early or take these films for review before your visit.
• Your doctor should know about all the drugs you take to cure the illness and allergies you have.
• Tell the doctor about the names of the specialists and places that you wish the results of the examination be delivered.
• Take the papers that prove that you are insured if you have them.
• Think over everything you want to ask the doctor beforehand.
• You may get registered for the next time.
• Try not to be upset if you need some extra-tests, in most cases they are necessary to convict of the right diagnose.
• You should have all medical materials connected with your illness (the day, place, doctors and other important information) in order.
